Podcasts + Blogs

I am always on the look out for content that will teach me more about how to be good with money. Here are a bunch of podcasts and blogs for you to check out!

Blog

www.mrmoneymustache.com

One of the first bloggers I found and considered a go to guy in the PF space. One of his most famous blog posts is "The Shockingly Simple Math Behind Early Retirement" and is a great place to start your journey.

Podcast

www.daveramsey.com

I have met a number of people who directly attribute their getting out of debt and staying out of debt with the no nonsense advice of Dave Ramsey. I prefer his podcast, he releases a couple a week.

Podcast

The Pineapple Project

A recent discovery, this is an Australian podcast that is really well edited. Let's face it, Oz is so close to NZ that we can take a lot of what they say and directly relate it to here. Well worth a listen, particularly because the host is a comedian and lets face it, personal finance could do with being jazzed up.

Podcast

www.madfientist.com

He is all about retiring early and does some great interviews with a lot of the other podcasters I listen to. Mr Money Mustache, JL Collins etc.

Podcast

Planet Money

This podcast has some great stories on anything and everything that relates to money, very American based that's for sure, but interesting none the less.

Podcast

www.sidehustleschool.com

Think you might want to finally turn that idea of yours into a business to create an income outside of your day job? This is the podcast for you as Chris Guillebeau releases a podcast episode every day where he describes someones side hustle. You will learn something from each story and they are only ten minutes long or less.

Podcast

www.choosefi.com

Love this one, but they are kinda long so I always listen on a faster speed. I find the "Friday Roundup" less interesting so tend to just listen to the straight podcast episode.

Podcast

The Money Cafe

Two Australian financial journalists having a yarn in often a very noisy cafe. Some very interesting snippets of wisdom and I enjoy hearing about companies that I know and understand.

Blog

www.maryholm.com

I wish Mary was my Aunty, had I heard her words of wisdom from a young age I would have achieved FI far faster. Great to hear a Kiwi woman talking about money in NZ. She has her own website and a regular slot on Radio New Zealand with Jesse Mulligan in the afternoon, every second Thursday.

Podcast

Mo' Money - www.jessicamoorhouse.com

A Canadian woman who has a more chatty podcast about money. She interviews a wide range of people and I pick and choose what I listen to.

Podcast

www.wealthandrisk.nz

Sonnie is a Kiwi independent financial advisor and he has helped me out with my own blog when I need a bit of advice. He has a heap of knowledge and it is great to find a fellow Kiwi putting his ideas and experience online.

Podcast

Cooking The Books

Another Kiwi! This podcast covers a wide range of money related topics. Shorter length episodes and I don't relate to all of her topics but still worth a listen, I just pick and choose.
